Philippians 4.6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God
October 2019
We are so grateful for the continued ministries God places in our lives.
Dennis continues to share with inmates at Tamworth. A number of men have cried on his should at the devastating path their lives have taken. Others are honestly seeking God. Others are Christians seeking to follow God. There are others who are positively hostile.
Please pray for these men, the staff and prison chaplains all over Aust as they seek to share the love of God to these lonely people.
Our kids are contemplating their future, as many kids are as they get older. Please pray that God will guide them in their decision making. We are also asking that God will keep them strong, and help them to follow him through out their lives.
Glenys has been still working on videos. Please pray for people to be able to record them for her, and her to be able to learn new programs on the computer. Grey hair slows down the learning process, we have learned!
Could you also pray that her script writing is biblically correct and is able to be understood by the target audience.
March 2019
Please continue to pray for the inmates and staff. Dennis has been developing a good working relationship with the staff.
Thank God for all the kids we have with us. Please pray that God will keep working in their hearts to bring them to maturity.
Please pray for Glenys as she handles the home and family while Dennis is away at Tamworth and Sydney for his course.
Thank God for the time Dennis has with the men, and the chance to share God's love and guidance for them.
February 2019
Dennis left for his prison ministry. Please pray he is kept safe on the roads.
Pray for the inmates and the staff. We are asking God to touch their hearts and help them to come to know him in his fullness
We did not know when Dennis would be starting his prison ministry. Now we know. He will be traveling to Tamworth on the 17th Feb to get ready for Monday at Glenn Innes by 9.00am. He is doing some training there before working at Tamworth on Tuesday.
Please pray for Glenys as she is looking after the kids. Our bus is out of action until Dennis can come back and fix it. This means a lot of juggling as we do not fit into a 5 seater car.
Our children are back, except for one. Please pray for the one who is not with us. God knows the situation, so we are asking you to pray that God will work in the hearts of people around him and bless him.
Please pray for the inmates as they have a new chaplain to work with them
Our kids are venturing into sport again. We trust that God will keep them safe, both physically and spiritually.
We would value our prayers that God will touch their hearts and make them strong for him.
January 2019
We thank God that he orders our steps. God shows himself to be faithful. No one knows what is happening tomorrow, but God has planned our steps.
Please pray for Dennis as he travels to and from Tamworth each week. This is about 3 hours each way. He will be working as a Prison Chaplain. We are asking God to work in the hearts of the inmates, and that Dennis would be able to show them how to love and trust God.
Our kids have returned for a new year. Please pray for them. Ask God to keep working in their hearts, that they will grow strong and follow Him.
We need to be good examples of God's love. Please pray that God will make us into the people he wants us to be.
The translation work is running along well. We are are looking at another couple come down in June/July to have 2 months of intensive Bible Study. Please pray for them and that God will work out all the things that need to happen for this to pass.
June 2018
Thank God for his many blessings. We are so grateful for his love and support for not only us, but for all his people.
Our work on the recordings is proceeding a bit slower than we would like. Please pray that the script committee is able to get the scripts approved quickly, and we would be able to translate and record them quickly and efficiently.
We are so grateful to God for working in the hearts of the kids we have living with us. It is such a lot of hard work, but in the view of eternity it is so important.
God is working in their hearts and it is so exciting. Please pray they will continue to grow to a full understanding of God and fully commit themselves to him
The older boys are looking at AFL as a possible career. We are tying to show them how to live as a Christian in a world that plays sport on Sunday, a place that has huge temptations and money to fulfill those temptations. We have struggled with this, but honestly, temptation is everywhere, and sin is sin. We all have to learn to fight this whether in AFL or home. They need prayer to keep them strong.
Glenys has been working on script writing. Please pray that she will be able to write them in a way that people will understand and be impacted with. The scripts need to be biblically accurate so please pray that this is done to God's glory
These stories need to go out with God's blessing. We are asking God to go before us and prepare hearts for the Bible teaching when they hear it.
January 2018
Cheryl is progressing well after her operation. We are amazed at God's timing. She would not have survived the heart attack if she was in Borroloola. Praise God for his goodness to us all.
We are grateful to God for raising supporters to help us with the bus. We thank God for his provisions, especially as we live by faith.
Thank God for Cheryl, Sylvester and James arriving. Thank God that Cheryl was able to have life saving medical attention here in Newcastle.
Thank God for their growth since coming to us.
Please pray we will get the work done recording the Bible Stories in language.
We would value your prayers for the children in our care. We would love to see them saved and return to Borroloola and share their faith with others.
Wisdom and patience for us and our visitors as 2 cultures work together and live so close to each other.
Please pray that we could purchase a bus so move our little 'gang' around town.
Please pray that God will provide our needs, especially as so many are living here, food, power and amenities are always knocking at our door.
Thank God that we are able to serve him. Our time of rest and reward will happen when we receive our eternal reward, as it is with all of us.
We do have a very important decision we need to make. We just do not know what is right to do. Could you pray that we make the right decision, and that God will help us when that decision is made. We want to do God's will, but are not sure what to do in this instance.
December 2017
We have seen people come to the Lord since our trip to Borroloola. There has been a lot of time teaching over the phone. This has been great. Distance is such a tyranny, but God is working there and here.
We have some serious personal decisions that affect our family. Could you pray that we make the right decisions. We need to know exactly what God wants. He will go before us, but we need to know which way to go. Sorry about not being specific. The internet is a very public place. If you want more details, feel free to ring or email us.
Some of our family members have been struggling with big issues. Please pray that God will work in their hearts and help them be victorious. Some of it is in areas of salvation, and others in health and spiritual maturity. Sometimes we feel our family is in the firing line when we are working in ministry.
We are looking at bringing down 3 extra children from Borroloola to go to school here. We are sending to DALE Christian School in Newcastle. This is the school where Nelita is going. We have seen great success in how she has had her needs catered to. Her anxiety and stress levels have been reduced significantly.
These children are not saved, and we are trusting that God will work in their hearts during their time with us and for the rest of their lives.
These are the kids:
The oldest is Jai (16) Trevon (14) Nelita (13) Nikarita (12) Estella (9).
November 2017
God was good to us. We traveled over 10,000 km and arrived home safely.
We were able to do some recordings despite so many obstacles.
Nelita spent a lot of time with her family and met lots of other members of her community.
We were able to renew friendships and share with lots of people.
Please pray for the church in Borroloola. It has been hard for them, but it looks like God is moving.
We would ask you all to pray for the town. It is full of darkness. People are hurting and need God's healing power.
Could you pray for Vincent and Muldoon as they are struggling to run the church. They pray regularly for the town and are there to help and encourage those who need it.
Cheryl and James are trying to grow as Christians, but face many struggles. Please pray God will keep them strong.
Nelita, Trevon and Estella, could also do with your prayers, they do not know the Lord as their personal saviour.
Nancy and Linda are also struggling with their standing with God. They need to learn to really trust God
October 2017
We are grateful that we were able to complete the Garrawa recording of the Good News.
Nancy, Linda and Cheryl worked hard for us.
Please pray for the communities like Borroloola. There is so much heart ache and sadness.
The Christian church is doing it hard at the moment. Please pray for them. The men in the church are praying for God to raise strong leaders for the community. It would be great if we could join with them to petition God for workers on the field.
Without betraying confidences, we ask you to pray for the trouble that happened while we were there. We ask that you pray for individuals who need God to help them. God knows who they are and how to help them.
Nelita loved being back with family. She was very sad when we left, please pray that she understands where God wants her to be and to be comfortable where she is placed.
August 2017
We are grateful to God for giving us a safe trip here to Borroloola.
It has been good to catch up with people and share with them.
We are disappointed that we cannot stay at Robinson River because the road is too rough for a van.
Please pray for a way to enable this to happen.
Nelita is enjoying time with her family. She is being schooled by us at the moment. Please pray that we are doing a good job and that Nellie will be a good student!!!!!
We really need committed people to help with the work. It is hard, but then when we find them, often something crops up to take them from the work we would like to do.
Please pray for opportunities to share with people and for them to catch the vision of sharing the gospel with others around them.
We are leaving on Thursday after Nelita comes home from school. This get us on the road, and the next morning is not hindered by what ever comes up.
We would value your prayers for a safe trip up to Borroloola and back home again. It will be roughly 12,000km, without factoring in the miles we do while in Borroloola and surrounding area.
Please pray for the people we meet along the way too. We have material to share with those we meet along the road, as well as the folk we plan to minister to as well.
Since we set definite dates for this trip, we have had a lot of trouble around us. This is very unusual as we have never had these sorts of problems before. Could you pray that God will be the victor, that we stay strong, and maintain a strong witness with those around us.
We need to trust that God can bind the hands of the evil one, and hinder his works. Along with this, we do ask you to pray that God will protect our property while we are away. Jarrod is home while we are away, but he does shift work and the house is vacant from 2.00 until early morning.
Nelita will be schooled by us as we travel. Could you pray we have the patience to do this. While we did home school our boys, Nelita has been attending school, so it is very different for her to be schooled by us. She is in year 7, so we need to keep ahead of her work. Nelita struggles with school and retaining information, so we need to be patient and wise.
The cost of setting up the van for this trip has been expensive as we have needed to buy/fix/install several different things on the van. This took most of our support over the last few months. Could you pray that God will supply our needs as they arrive.
It is often scary living by faith, but even more scary when running close to the wind financially and several thousand kilometers from home. It does not get any easier with time. Every month we have to look at trusting God to supply our needs. Sometimes we do this well, other times we do struggle to trust him to provide for us.
Thank God for the work he will do. We are grateful for the opportunity to work for Him, and see what he does.
June 2017
For those of you who were praying for Trevon, we ask that you continue to pray for him. He did not come as planned. While the plane flight was booked and he arrived in Darwin to go on it, he bailed up at the last minute. His mother is very upset. Could you continue to pray for him as he is getting into things he should not be doing.
Our plans for going up north are on the way. We are working with Nelita's school to organise school work for her.
Dennis is working on the van and car getting it ready for the trip. There are just a few jobs, but they are a bit expensive, so we can only do them as the funds come in to do it.
Dennis has been preaching at a church in Singleton. It is very small and struggling, but are becoming excited when they are learning more about Him. They asked him to do a fortnight Bible study now, so that is exciting.
Please pray that God will go ahead of us and prepare the hearts of the people to listen to the recordings. Also that there will not be too many distractions taking people away from recording the stories.
One GRN missionary was telling us that so often when recording, problems would arise to hinder the recording process. It was really a spiritual warefare issue. Please pray that God is victorious and all the work that needs to be done gets done.
May 2017
We are very grateful for the provision of the new shed/office. We are now working in a safe, dry office. It is a bit cold as we have fill in some extra walls yet.
This year we have been working on having some people come down and work with us. They are willing, but that object that makes the world turn, called money is the issue. Please pray that God will provide finances to help workers to come and help us with recording Bible Stories.
On Wednesday, Trevon will be joining our family again. He decided he wanted to stay here, so please pray for him, and Nellie, as it is a struggle for young kids to be living in a different culture, state and away from family.
We are just finalizing the dates for our trip to the NT. We will be there in September, October. Please pray that we will have the funds by then. Pray that the work will be valuable. We are looking at getting scripts translated and recorded. Workers will need to be committed and available for a lot of hard work. Pray that they will see the vision and make the committment
As we talked with recorders from GRN, they say that when they start to record, all sorts of obstacles arise to hinder the work. We need to pray that God will keep control of the situation and put a restraining hand on the work of the evil one.
Thank God for all the work Dennis has done and GRN office. He has learned heaps.Thank God for safety on the road as he communtes to Sydney on a regular basis.
Thank God for the safe arrival of another grandchild. We are also expecting another on in November. Could you uphold our children before God as some of them are saved and others not.
February 2017
Please continue to pray for Trevon. He decided not to return to NSW for school. His mother was really disappointed. She really wanted him to come. A part of the problem was that he had to travel alone to Darwin and then to us on the plane. Today we removed his name from the school. We are sad, and Nellie, especially it taking it hard that her brother will not be here.
Their mother has been attending church a bit these last few months. Could you pray for her and the kids; that God will touch their lives and help them to come to know Him.
Praise God! Nelita was accepted into DALE Christian School. She is enjoying it so far, especially as she gets an Apple Computer to use! Trevon is still in the NT. There is a bit a trouble getting him out. We trust God will work out what Trevon's future path will be.
Dennis will be going to the GRN office each week for the next 3 months for further training in recording. The more he learns, the less mistakes he will make in recording on the field. He will take the van to GRN. He will be home for the week ends.
Please pray that this will be fruitful. The men training Dennis will be able to teach well and efficently, and Dennis will learn all he needs to know, and be able to use this info on the field
Glenys will be home ensuring everything else runs smoothly.
A couple from Borroloola are arriving soon to help us with some of the work. Please pray for James & Cheryl. There are some issues needing to be resolved before they can come. Could you pray that God will help sort out the hindrances and help them to arrive soon.
James has not long become a Christian so he needs your prayers too.
Thank God for the work Cheryl has been doing in Darwin and further afield. You can read about this in the main blog page.
January 2017
Thank you for your continued prayer. We are grateful to God for all his goodness.
God answered our prayers in getting Nelita, and Trevon, (we think) in to the DALE school. We really did not know what to do with their schooling, but it seems that God has provided this for them.
As this is a Christian school, and there fore private, we are also trusting God to help with the fees for the school. Please pray that God will supply those funds to help with giving them the education they need.
We are also excited for Cheryl and James coming to stay with us. Cheryl has been a Christian for many years. Her husband James has only recently come to know God. Praise God.
This is a great time to spend teaching them the Word of God along with them helping us do translation work and recording.
Please pray that we will have proper accommodation for them to stay.
We need prayer that the shed will be rebuilt and the funds we have will be sufficient with out budget blowouts. We trust the council will be good to work with and help us as we need the letters and permits.
Thank God for the work he is doing in Robinson River. Many people are being saved there. The church is growing and they have been asking for bible study material to help them grow spiritually
October 2016
Well, we arrived home safe and sound. So often we take traveling for granted and expect to be safe.
We loved visiting with so many people. It was great to see people we had not seen for many years.
A number of people told us they had been praying for us all the time we have been missionaries. Could we give thanks to God for keeping these prayer warriors safe and strong. They need our prayers too!
We shared about the 5 fish app to many people. Please pray that God will use this to further his kingdom. People need to remember they have this tool and be willing to share with others. Pray for those people yet to be reached, that their hearts will be ready when presented with the gospel
God's people are called to do many different things. Some pray, some preach, some serve, some give, some love.... we all have different gifts to bring. Lets thank God for what he has given us all.
At times we have felt under some spiritual attack while we were away. Could you pray that God will protect our family during these times and that God will be the winner in this battle.
We need to make some decisions about school for Nelita and Trevon next year. Could you pray that we make the right decision. We could pray God would make the kids benefit from and grow with the decisions we make for them.
As with all our kids, we need to keep them before God as they learn about him and hopefully trust him for their salvation.
August 2016
We are leaving NSW on Thursday 1st September. Please pray that our journey will be safe and that people will catch the vision of GRN and the possibilities of the 5fish app use in their local church.
We will be schooling Nelita & Trevon, so that will be interesting while traveling. We did that before, but it was quite a few years ago, when we were younger and more patient.
Nelita & Glenys are quite unwell at the moment, so please pray they will recover soon. They need be a whole lot better before traveling and meeting a number of different people.
PWMU gave a gift to help install solar panels on the van. We are able to get it installed at GRN for half the commercial cost. It works well. We will test it out on our trip to Vic next month.
Please keep praying for our trip to Vic in September/October. We will be visiting a lot of churches in country Victoria. We trust this will be a great time catching up with old friends and supporters.
We were not able to get any one to help with looking after Nellie, so we will have to take her out of her school for the next 2 months. Please pray that this will work out, as she is in a special needs class that gives her extra help with her learning difficulties. The extra help (speech therapy, Occupational Therapy etc) will be put off until we come back.
Our trip away will be quite hectic. So please pray that we will be safe on the roads, and that our energy levels will continue throughout our trip.
We could also thank God for the continued ministry we have with people in the NT, even though we are not there. So many are really wanting the Bible stories in their own language, and keep asking when we will come to them.
Keep praying that we will be able to go next year and that people are ready to work on the material and that people will be saved after hearing God's Word in their heart language.
July 2016
We can always thank God for his love and mercy to us all. We often forget the many little things God does for us.
Could we pray for the people who work together to pray for other Christians. Lets ask God to bless those prayer warriors who quietly fight for others through the power of prayer.
We will be traveling to Sydney a few times this month. Dennis will be getting some more help/training with the recording. Glenys will be attending a seminar about prayer and support.
We cant go to these together as Nelita is at school, and we are unwilling to pull her out of school.
This brings us to another prayer point. We will be visiting country Victoria in September/October. At this stage Dennis will be going alone. Glenys would love to come and help him with the traveling and the meetings, as it does get a bit hard when doing this work alone for an extended time.
We don't want to take Nelita out of school as she is in a special education class, and is doing very well there. It would be great if someone could stay with her here in Woodberry so we both can go. Could you pray that God will supply if this is what he wants us to do. We need God to go before us in this, an prepare the way for what He deems best to do.
June 2016
Praise God, He looked after us as we traveled to and from the Gold Coast.
We enjoyed seeing the Dillon family again.
We continue to ask God to bring people into our lives so we can share the work o GRN, and ultimately, the gospel.
This month has seen us visiting a different church each Sunday. We have met a lot of lovely people. It has been good to see people get excited about the 5fish app, and how they can use it in their own personal ministy.
Glenys will be traveling to the Gold Coast to attend a ceremony welcoming the Salvation Army to minister with the Yeripo people. We are excited about meeting with these people and maybe working with them in the future.
Please pray for this time. We would ask God for traveling mercies, and that the time will be profitable for the people, for us and for the Kingdom of God.
May 2016
We can thank God for safety on the road. Sometimes you feel vulnerable on the road knowing that one small mistake on the road could lead to disaster.
We were encouraged by the interest in the 5fish app. This is a great tool for people both internationally and locally to use to share the gospel. Please continue to pray for the people working to record the gospel in many different languages.
Thank God for the people who encouraged us as we traveled around. Some have been faithfully praying for us for nearly 20 years. Others have financially done the same. These people are so important to the ministry of those who serve God whether in the local church or further afield. We need to uphold these people in prayer too.
There was a bad car accident in Borroloola while we were in Victoria. One lady died, and several were hurt. Please pray for the family of the deceased and for the survivors. The Christians in the accident are struggling with many issues related to the accident.
We need to do more deputation, but are not sure what to do with Nelita and her schooling. She is in a special education class, and we are reluctant to take her out of that. We have discussed just one of us traveling down, but with the distances we need to travel, we feel that 2 people should go and share the load. Could you pray that we find a way to do all we feel we should be doing.
These next few weeks, we will be visiting churches in the Hunter Valley. This will take us into July. It does take its toll, with traveling and preparing for the different types of presentations. Thank you for praying that God will go before us, and that it is not too unsettling on the kids going from one church to another.
March 2016
We have been working on scripts. Please pray we will be able to add the right amount of teaching without leaving out important information and not putting too much in.
We can thank God for the people using the 5fish app in Borroloola. They were very excited about it, and have shared it with others.
The next few months will be traveling in NSW and Vic doing some deputation. Please pray that people will catch the vision and want to be a part of the prayer/support team.
Thank God for the arrival of 2 grandchildren in Feb. We need to keep the next generation in prayer to keep them in God's hands as they grow.
We are so grateful for the continued ministries God places in our lives.
Dennis continues to share with inmates at Tamworth. A number of men have cried on his should at the devastating path their lives have taken. Others are honestly seeking God. Others are Christians seeking to follow God. There are others who are positively hostile.

Please continue to pray for the inmates and staff. Dennis has been developing a good working relationship with the staff.

Please pray for Glenys as she handles the home and family while Dennis is away at Tamworth and Sydney for his course.

Traveling to Borroloola
You can read the post about our upcoming trip to Borroloola and the reasons for it.
Could you pray that God would raise the finances to help with this trip. We have to pay for accommodation there, and really do not have the funds to do so.
We also need God's grace in the area of travel protection as we will be traveling long distances and there has been a lot of rain up there.
Please pray as we make plans with the people there about how and where we can continue the ministry of recording. We need to be able to communicate well with the people and understand their needs and desires as we prepare for the coming year.
Thank God for the time Nelita has had with her family. Pray for her mother and siblings that they may be comforted and come to Christ.
New Year
As we plan our new year, please pray that God will direct our steps. We need to juggle Nelita's schooling, trips away, and people coming here to work with us and deputation.
We can thank God he knows how to plan our lives for us. We lay out our plans, but God makes them happen his way.
Dennis will be traveling to the Gippsland area early this year. Please pray that he will be safe on the road, and God will help him with the schedule planned.

December 2015
Please pray for Nelita. Her father died this month. She is spending Christmas and some of January with her family in Borroloola.
This is a hard time for Nelita and her family.
As the new year approaches, we look forward to seeing what God will do. We can be thankful for his great plan in all our lives.
